A week later during my la Franqui holiday I agreed to meet with Joerg Sonntag, design engineer from Sonntag Fins and see his prototype fins. The fins are made of 99% Carbon in CNC-milled moulds. The first fins (SL-S/ GPS_1) felt really good, so I got a few to try. Last weekend the wind was finally back and together with Joerg I tried the brandnew GPS_2, very fast profile and speed shows. I believe together with Sonntag Fins it won't take long before I go faster than ever. As a testrider I am trying to optimize fins for speed in different conditions. I am REALLY happy to be able to discuss findings with my gear and try to optimize with Joerg.
The SL-S model is tested already a lot and is in production now in sizes of 280 to 490mm. So far the SL-S is really a lightwind miracle, compared to the succesfull Select SL7 it got a bit more bottom-end. I have to test it more but in difficult choppy conditions I go already twice the windspeed, with the slalomdesign. Imagine if the water would be flat ;)The Sonntag Fins GPS_x designs are now in a testing phase, when they come in production / website comes online I will let you know.
